Egypt's Temple of Debod is right in the middle of Madrid

The Temple of Debod is an unusual find in a European city. It's not often that you find an old Egyptian temple like this. This building, which is 2,200 years old and quietly located in Parque del Oeste, was given to Spain by Egypt in the 1960s. It is now one of the most interesting places in Madrid to watch the sunset. 

With its reflection pools and lush plants, the temple seems both ancient and unreal. Many people come just to see the warm light of golden hour shine on the inner rooms and learn about the building's history and relocation, with views of Casa de Campo in the background. 

In the middle of a busy city, there's a beautiful, quiet spot that's great for a picnic in the evening, a romantic picture, or just a moment of peace.
