The Sainte-Chapelle is a hidden gem of stained glass

The Sainte-Chapelle may be Paris's most beautiful secret. It is hidden in the ancient heart of Île de la Cité. There isn't much to see from the outside, and it's easy to miss. But once you step inside, the mix of colors makes you feel like you're in another world. 

The church was built in the 1300s to hold holy relics. It is famous for its 15 tall stained-glass windows, each of which vividly depicts a story from the Bible. Deep blue, ruby red, and bright yellow light up the room when sunshine comes through. 

The upper church, which was once only for royalty, is small and beautiful. The lower church, which is less fancy but still lovely, adds to the sense of difference and awe. 

The air there doesn't yell; it whispers. If you want to feel the spiritual beauty of Gothic architecture in Paris, you have to visit Sainte-Chapelle. It is peaceful, holy, and full of color.
